OVERVIEW

SIA 2026,

ADAPTING TO CHANGES IN THE ECOSYSTEM

The construction and public works sector is at the heart of major global challenges related to the ecological and digital transitions. Against a backdrop of rapid urbanization and in the face of increasingly stringent environmental requirements, it is becoming imperative to incorporate digital innovations, the principles of the circular economy, and rigorous sustainable resource management practices into both public and private sector policies.

These strategic levers not only improve project efficiency while reducing costs and lead times, but also mitigate the environmental impact associated with material extraction, waste generation, and energy consumption.

Digitalization is fundamentally transforming design, planning, and management processes. The circular economy calls for a rethinking of the resource-intensive nature of traditional production and consumption models, while sustainable resource management is becoming essential to reducing the ecological footprint of infrastructure.

This is the focus of the central theme of the5th edition of the SIA : “Digitalization, Circular Economy, and Sustainable Resource Management in Construction”, to be held from September 17–19, 2026 at the Abidjan Exhibition Center. This theme perfectly illustrates the profound changes in our ecosystem that the construction sector is facing in Africa.

Organized by the Ivorian Association of Building and Public Works (GIBTP) and MARKETING FOCUSES, this trade show reaffirms its strategic role in the development of the construction and public works sector in Côte d’Ivoire and its ability to anticipate global trends, while consolidating its position as Africa’s leading event for the promotion of modern, sustainable, and smart infrastructure.

It serves as a premier platform for dialogue among public and private sector stakeholders, academics, and technical experts, fostering the exchange of experiences, innovations, and best practices.
