The groundbreaking ceremony for the fourth Abidjan bridge, held on Monday, July 30, 2018, provided Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly with an opportunity to announce to the public the upcoming launch of major road infrastructure projects in Abidjan.
At the groundbreaking ceremony for the fourth bridge, held on Monday, July 4, 2018, in Attécoubé, Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly announced the implementation of several road infrastructure projects in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic capital.
He was informed that, in addition to the major projects currently underway—notably the Abidjan metro and the fourth bridge—Abidjan will soon see the construction of three interchanges in Port-Bouet (Akwaba), at the Police Academy, and in Palmeraie, all located in the Cocody district. All of these projects, the Prime Minister emphasized, are part of the government’s commitment to improving traffic in the Ivorian capital.
Plans are also in place for higher education. Next September, construction will begin on the University of San Pedro, as well as on the University of Bondoukou, the prime minister said.
